This is a new limited edition of 14 kaleidoscopes by Timothy Krause. It represents a complete shift in previously offered kaleidoscopes. By popular demand this very contemporary designed kaleidoscope features a fluid filled object cell. This is the first series of fluid filled scopes this artist has made in over ten years. Timothy is a specialist when it comes to dry cells so please take this opportunity to purchase one of his latest designs.
The scope features a magnified two mirror, 10 point mandala image with a FIXED FLUID object cell. There are no moving external parts. Simply look into the scope and turn the body to watch the ever changing scene of tropical colors. The cell contains plenty of lampworked and fused glass pieces. Each piece was individually crafted in the flame or kiln and chosen to take advantage of the fluid filled cell. There are no beads or craft store fillers in this scope.
The scope measures 9 inches tall by 2 3/4 inches wide. The body is wrapped in a high grade vinyl and measures 2 3/8 inches in diameter. The wood used for the scope is Sapelle Pomelle, an exotic hardwood from Africa. Included with the scope is a matching stand that has been turned on the lathe for a very streamlined appearance.
